You know that old saying, "Don't quit your day job"? Well, I've never been one to follow sound advice, so back in October I did just that. I have since been dedicating my time to my photography and writing.
There are a number of things coming up to look forward to. In February, I'll be at the Yukon Quest. I am media credentialed this year, and will be taking a lot of photographs and hopefully some video while I'm there. The winter has been pretty mild, so far, but this is the coldest time of year, so we will see how that goes. There are a bunch of entrants this year, so there should be plenty of photo opportunities (hint: there are, even if there aren't many racers!)
I am also planning on starting up a YouTube channel. I already have one that I've used to share goofy videos in the past, but this one will be dedicated to photography and the various projects I have going on. I know there are already many great photographer YouTube channels out there, so I may just be injecting some noise into an already crowded signal, but, you know what, it looks like fun, so I'm going to give it a shot.
Lastly, I'm currently working on building a large format camera. If you are curious about how that is going, I've been posting the progress photos on Instagram at: http://www.instagram.com/urbanraven. This first camera is just a test. The final camera will be a solid wood 4x5 large format camera.
Anyway, I want to thank my readers. I plan on posting here on a more regular basis now that I have more available time. Once the YouTube channel is set up, I'll make another post here as well, to give it a proper intro.
